Lower Kissimmee Basin Water Supply Plan

lower Kissimmee basin water supply map The Lower Kissimmee Basin Water Supply Planning Area includes portions of Glades, Okeechobee, and Highlands counties (generally northwest of Lake Okeechobee) and the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Brighton Reservation.

The South Florida Water Management District is developing the 2024 Lower Kissimmee Basin Water Supply Plan Update (2024 LKB Plan Update) to assess projected water demands and potential sources of water for the period from 2022 to 2045. This plan update will be used by local governments, water users and utilities in their planning and to update and modify local comprehensive plans, facility work plans and ordinances.

Public Comment

The public comment period for a portion of the 2024 Lower Kissimmee Basin Water Supply Plan Update (early draft chapters review) has ended as of August 23, 2024.
