Web board allows public to offer input from home and participate in development of key annual report on environmental restoration progress
As part of our ongoing effort to increase public participation and engagement, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is encouraging the public to provide input on Volume I of the draft 2021 South Florida Environmental Report.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is discharging water from Lake Okeechobee to the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee Estuaries, and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is taking action to help shorten the duration of these harmful discharges to the northern estuaries.

SFWMD is actively working to reduce Lake Okeechobee levels and shorten the duration of these harmful discharges. Boats wider than 25 feet or longer than 75 feet will not be able to use the S-310 Boat Lock on Oct. 28-29 from 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m. due to routine lock maintenance. Boats narrower than 25 feet in width or shorter than 75 feet in length will still be allowed to access the boat lock on those days.
