The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is prepared for potentially heavy rain from Tropical Depression Eta as it is forecasted to impact parts of South Florida as early as this weekend. Residents and communities are urged to prepare for the expected rainfall in advance of the storm.

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is prepared for potentially heavy rain forecasted from a tropical weather system forecasted to pass over the southern portion of the state this weekend.

The storm front is forecasted to bring heavy rains to South Florida Saturday and Sunday as it moves north. SFWMD meteorologists are forecasting some localized rainfall maximums as high as 6 inches, particularly in the eastern coastal portions of the District.

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias and preparing your water management system for potential rainfall. Based on current forecasts, we are proactively lowering our canals to pre-storm levels to allow the flood control system to operate at full capacity if needed. The current forecast suggests that Tropical Storm Isaias will move over South Florida late Saturday through early Sunday.
