Labor Day weekend is traditionally a time of increased traffic on South Florida’s waterways as the official end of summer approaches. Boaters are encouraged to follow these safety reminders:

NAPLES, Fla. - The Big Cypress Basin (BCB) is using a new remote operations system to monitor and control water levels with extreme precision throughout 24 miles of canals in southwestern Collier County. The remote operations system allows water managers to move and hold water quickly and efficiently, which improves flood control, protects Naples Bay, and safeguards groundwater supplies in the region.

Join the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) for the third public meeting about the Lower West Coast (LWC) Water Supply Plan. The plan will assess current and projected water needs in the LWC Water Supply Planning Area through 2045. The planning area encompasses Lee County and portions of Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Monroe counties.
