The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board invites the public to participate online for its upcoming Governing Board Workshop and Monthly Business Meeting today and tomorrow, respectively.
Both the Workshop and Business Meeting will be held online only using Zoom, a free online meeting tool. The Workshop will take place today at 1 p.m. and the Business Meeting will take place tomorrow, April 9 at 9 a.m.

As part of its ongoing efforts to help prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 and protect public safety, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) will temporarily close public access for recreation to several District-managed properties, effective at 6 p.m. (ET) on April 1, 2020.
The District is following the guidance of Gov. Ron DeSantis, the Florida Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to minimize activities that result in gathering of large groups of people.

Four locks on north shore of lake are closed and hours restricted at fifth lock for safety due to lake conditions.
Today, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) closed four navigation locks on the north shore and reduced the operating hours of a fifth lock because of lake conditions. Injury and lock damage could occur when boats pass through these structures when lake levels are outside of designated safety limits.
