NAPLES, Fla. - The entire Big Cypress Basin (BCB) Board along with officials from Collier County and Audubon's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary celebrated the completion of an upgraded water control structure in Naples that borders portions of the Bird Rookery Swamp and Audubon's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.

The S-131 Boat Lock on Lake Okeechobee at Lakeport in Glades County will temporarily close to navigation for routine maintenance on Thursday, February 2, 2023. The boat lock is expected to re-open on Friday, February 3, 2023.

EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK, Fla. - Today, the South Florida Water Management District along with the National Park Service broke ground on the Taylor Slough Flow Improvement Project within Everglades National Park. This environmental restoration project will allow more clean, freshwater to flow south through Taylor Slough and onto Florida Bay, where it is needed to balance salinity levels and promote ecological health.
