
The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) continues to proactively engage with the public and stakeholders and provide communities with information about the protection and management of South Florida’s water resources.
Did you know the SFWMD Speakers Bureau connects SFWMD water management professionals with community groups, homeowners’ associations, students and other stakeholders across our 16-county region? The SFWMD participates in a variety of speaking engagements, including keynote addresses, roundtable discussions at large conferences, classroom presentations, community organization chats, homeowners’ association meetings, and other events.
Frequently requested presentation topics include, but are not limited to:
- Advancing Everglades Restoration: The SFWMD, along with our local, state and federal partners, works on the largest ecosystem restoration project in the world: Restoring America's Everglades. This presentation covers the significant progress that has been made to protect and restore the Greater Everglades Ecosystem.
- SFWMD Resiliency Initiatives: A look at how the SFWMD is ensuring the region’s water resources and ecosystems resiliency now and in the future.
- Overview of the SFWMD: This presentation provides information about the SFWMD’s mission and its work to provide flood control, water supply planning, water quality improvements, ecosystem restoration and advance resiliency initiatives.
