South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) continues to take action to help alleviate high water conditions in the Central Everglades. Today, SFWMD is installing temporary pumps in southern Palm Beach County to help reduce high water levels in the Central Everglades. The temporary pumps are located just west of the S-39 structure on the northern border of Water Conservation Area (WCA) 2A in Broward County and the southern border of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge (also known as WCA 1). 

All navigational locks operated by the South Florida Water Management District (SFMWD) will close at the end of their normal operating hours today due to Tropical Storm Eta. Below is a list of the affected locks.

Boats wider than 25 feet or longer than 75 feet will not be able to use the S-310 Boat Lock on Oct. 28-29 from 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m. due to routine lock maintenance. Boats narrower than 25 feet in width or shorter than 75 feet in length will still be allowed to access the boat lock on those days.

The S-310 Boat Lock near Clewiston is now operational. The lock's hours of operation are 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. The lock will be closed and not available to pass through after hours. Starting Oct. 1, the boat lock will be open from 5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is reopening navigational locks today and tomorrow. Locks had been temporarily closed as Tropical Storm Isaias moved through the region.

The following locks will reopen today at 4 p.m.:

• Hendry County: S-310 boat lock, Clewiston

The following locks will reopen at the start of regular operating hours tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 3: 

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) will close all navigational locks it maintains to public access starting Saturday morning to ensure the safety of the boating public and prevent damage to the locks. Below is a list of the affected locks with corresponding closure dates and times.

The following locks will close at the end of regular operating hours on Friday, July 31: 

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) announced all navigational locks it maintains on the north shore of Lake Okeechobee will open starting tomorrow, July 11, 2020.

The open locks maintained by SFWMD the public can use to enter and exit Lake Okeechobee include:

• Okeechobee County: S-193 boat lock, Taylor Creek

• Martin County: S-135 boat lock, J&S Fish Camp

• Okeechobee County: G-36 boat lock, Henry Creek
