Taylor Creek S-193 Boat Lock Re-opened

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, Fla. - The Taylor Creek S-193 Boat Lock on Lake Okeechobee's North Shore re-opened after being temporarily closed to navigation for maintenance work. Other boat locks maintained by the South Florida Water Management District remain open.

Taylor Creek S-193 Boat Lock Temporarily Closing for Maintenance Work

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, Fla. - The Taylor Creek S-193 Boat Lock on Lake Okeechobee's North Shore will temporarily close to navigation starting Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023 for maintenance. The boat lock is expected to re-open by Friday, Jan. 6, 2023. Other boat locks maintained by the South Florida Water Management District will remain open during this time period.

Navigational Locks Along Kissimmee River and Kissimmee Chain of Lakes Are Now Open

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) re-opened five navigational locks along the Kissimmee River and in the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes. 

The S-65, S-65A, S-65D and S-65E boat locks along the Kissimmee River and the S-61 Southport boat lock were closed for public access to assist with alleviating high water conditions in the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes after Hurricane Ian. 

Temporary Change in Operations for the S-310 Boat Lock in Clewiston

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is making a temporary change in operations for the S-310 Boat Lock in Clewiston beginning today, Friday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m.

Operating Hours

  • The boat lock will be open daily from 5:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • The boat lock will close each night from 8:00 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. and boaters will not be able to lock through the structure. 

SFWMD maintains several boat locks on the north shore of Lake Okeechobee as well as the S-310 Boat Lock on the south shore of Lake Okeechobee.
