UPDATED: S-193 NOW OPEN SFWMD Reopening Navigation Locks on Lake Okeechobee's North Shore
Aug. 16, 2019
For boaters navigating to and from Lake Okeechobee, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) has reopened all five navigation locks it maintains on the lake's north shore seven days a week.
Earlier today SFWMD reported that one lock, S-193, had been temporarily closed because of vegetation blocking the lock. UPDATE: All vegetation has been cleared and the S-193 lock is now reopened as well.
