WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Hurricane Dorian may impact South Florida as a Category 3 storm as early as this weekend, and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD)'s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is at the Enhanced Monitoring level. Today, the SFWMD is continuing to collaborate with the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, local drainage districts, municipalities, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The District is also continuing to prepare the regional flood protection system and will fully activate its Emergency Operations Center as conditions warrant. The District's preparations aim to protect communities from flooding and address potential heavy rainfall from the storm.
