GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE DISCUSSED:
Chapter 2024-180, Laws of Florida, requires water management districts to develop rules promoting reclaimed water use and encouraging quantifiable potable water offsets with specific requirements for such rules. The South Florida Water Management District is proposing to create rule amendments to allow for a consumptive use permit (CUP) duration up to 30 years and CUP extensions up to 10 years if a water supply development or water resource development project using reclaimed water meets certain conditions under new subsection 373.250(9), Florida Statutes. The St. John’s River Water Management District and Southwest Florida River Water Management District will be co-presenting at this workshop given the location within the Central Florida Water Initiative Area.
One or more members of the Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District may attend this workshop. No Governing Board action will be taken.
The agenda will be posted to the District’s website, SFWMD.gov/meetings, seven days prior to the meeting. Or, you can contact Simon Sunderland via phone at 561-682-2705 or via email at ssunder@sfwmd.gov. A copy of the draft proposed rules will be available one week before the workshop at: SFWMD.gov/doing-business-with-us/rules.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in this forum is asked to advise the agency at least seven days before the workshop/meeting by contacting: Molly Brown, District Clerk, at mobrown@sfwmd.gov.
