GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE DISCUSSED:

The South Florida Water Management District will celebrate the start of construction for the C-139 Flow Equalization (FEB) Project with a groundbreaking event. All members of the public are invited to this meeting. Comfortable closed-toe shoes and business casual attire are recommended.

One or more members of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board may be in attendance. No Governing Board action will be taken at this event.

The C-139 FEB, an 11,000-acre shallow reservoir, will store local basin runoff from the C-139 Basin and control the flow of water to the adjacent Stormwater Treatment Area 5/6. This will help improve the performance of STA 5/6, removing nutrients from stormwater and improving the quality of the water before it flows south to Everglades National Park and Florida Bay. The SFWMD is accelerating this project to bring the FEB online as quickly as possible.

The event will also be recorded and available for viewing at YouTube.com/SFWMDTV after the event concludes.
