Water Resources Analysis Coalition (WRAC)
The Water Resources Analysis Coalition (WRAC) is a forum for improving public participation about water resource issues in South and Central Florida. The Coalition typically holds public forums on the first Thursday of each month. WRAC Recreational Issues Workshops are held once every quarter. Meetings are open to the public.
Invited attendees are appointed to the Coalition by the SFWMD Governing Board and represent a broad range of business, agricultural, environmental, tribal, governmental and public interests.
Purpose and Mission
The Coalition serves as a fact-finding body supporting the Governing Board and as a forum for improving public participation in water resource issues affecting South Florida by:
- Working to build consensus among and within the public and private sectors regarding water resource activities impacting South Florida.
- Gathering information related to the effects of continued population growth, development and agriculture on South Florida's natural resources.
- Gathering information related to the need to restore, preserve and protect the greater South Florida ecosystem while providing for other water-related needs of the region, including water supply and flood protection.
