West Palm Beach, FL – In recognition of the value provided by recreation on public land, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board today significantly expanded public access in three popular spots encompassing the Kissimmee River, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties.
"Hiking, biking, hunting, wildlife watching and so many more outdoor activities are available on your public lands, owned by the District," said SFWMD Governing Board Chairman Dan O'Keefe. "This Board remains committed to protecting your access to these taxpayer-owned District resources."
