The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is upgrading the reference system used to measure water elevations. Water elevation readings, also known as water level readings, will soon be reported in the newer North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) instead of the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD 29).

Join the South Florida Water Management District for the first public meeting about the 2024 Lower Kissimmee Basin Water Supply Plan Update. The plan will assess current and projected water needs in the planning area through 2045. The planning area includes portions of Glades, Okeechobee, and Highlands counties (generally northwest of Lake Okeechobee) and the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Brighton Reservation.
