The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) issued Emergency Order 2023-027 to authorize pumping and other measures to address the flooding in Broward County caused by record breaking, severe and heavy rainfall from widespread thunderstorms.

South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Executive Director Drew Bartlett provided a final update this evening from the SFWMD’s Emergency Operations Center on the District’s response efforts for Hurricane Nicole.
The storm brought an average of 2-3 inches of rain in the northern portions of SFWMD's boundary. Regional water management systems responded well to the rainfall. Inspections today revealed no major issues associated with the regional water management system.
