Our Governing Board, which makes policy for the agency and represents both local and regional interests, meets regularly every month. The Board also schedules special meetings, for example to seek public input on the agency's budget and important initiatives. Advisory groups and local, state and federal government partners also meet at agency facilities – or host meetings throughout the region and the state.
The SFWMD also participates in a number of local and regional community, business and public events within the 16 counties included within our boundaries.
Governing Board Meetings
The Governing Board meets each month, on the second Wednesday and Thursday of that month, usually at the SFWMD's headquarters in West Palm Beach.
Occasionally, the Board meets in cities within the 16 counties within the SFWMD's boundaries. Special meetings are also sometimes scheduled throughout the region: to discuss topics of particular interest to a part of the region, or to solicit feedback from various parts of the public and stakeholders.
