In April 2007, the South Florida Water Management District first enacted sweeping new water use restrictions, including restrictions in the Indian Prairie Basin. Starting in October, Phase III Modified Restrictions for Agriculture and Residential users were adopted. Okeechobee Service Center staff will also provide assistance with completion of the applications for variance (Indian Prairie Map).

Note to Agricultural Allocation Users: As a result of recent, system-wide heavy rainfall, and high water levels throughout the region, designated weekly allocations are temporarily suspended as of the week beginning August 18, 2008. Watch this space for a change in these conditions.
