The South Florida Water Management District is comprised of two major basins, the Okeechobee and the Big Cypress Basin.
The Big Cypress Basin (BCB) includes Collier County and part of Monroe County, and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, planning and capital improvements for approximately 169 miles of canals and 46 water control structures in this region.

The BCB Field Station is located nearby, at 6167 Janes Lane, Naples, Florida 34109. Hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
